Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences
Environmental pollution in China, which contributes annually to over 2.4 million premature deaths, is of increasing concern to the country’s citizens and policy makers. The department works to our further understanding of risk factors identification and estimation, therewith exacerbating the protective policies and medical and public health interventions. Our goal—through research, teaching, and service—is to protect human health by reducing harmful exposures and promoting those activities with positive benefits.
Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences was established together with the new Peking Union Public Health School in 2013, and the faculty includes one assistant professor now. Our academic program offers Frontiers in Environmental Health Sciences, and our research projects are supported by the National Science Foundation of China.
